I'm back!

Okay Mom, i'm finally starting up again just for you. Although don't feel left out if you're reading this and your name isn't mom, this is also for you. Okay. Classes started last week and i've been super busy ever since. I'll try to give you a brief run down of the past week or so, but I can't guarantee it'll be all that brief. So here we go: The first day of classes was the day after labor day, the fifth. I had Archaeology of Egypt and Mesopotamia starting at 11:30 which was lovely since I got to sleep in nice and late and will continue to do so every Tuesday and Thursday this semester. This is my class with Natalia, and it seems like it'll be fun. That first day we got out an hour early, so I got to go have lunch with Natalia at Martha Cooke and see her room and all. It's pretty much a museum in there, the cafeteria was all old fashioned and gorgeous. After lunch I went right on over to my Biology of Insects class in the confusing Chem building. I love this class so far, it's going to get really hard really fast, but it is also a ton of fun. We went on a field trip to the Arboretum the first day and were there for a long time and went all over collecting bugs. It was great. I've been out collecting alot since then and my collection is coming along nicely. Today I got my butterflies pinned which was pretty much impossible to do without breaking them. I'm very happy with two of them and the other two might work...maybe. So that took all afternoon. Then I got home around dinner time and Gabe, Sebastian and Jeff were all over for dinner which was a lot of fun. Then Ani, Jeff, Gabe, Sebastian and I headed over to Ani and Jeff's house for our first Encyclical night. We had a good discussion of the encyclical for a couple hours and then hung out a while longer before everyone went home. I'm looking forward to the next one. Then on Wednesday I had Poetry at 8:30 in the morning. Fortunately, my teacher for that class is really funny and energetic, so I managed to stay awake and participate a bit. I think i'll enjoy that class more than my other English class which is weird because I was definitely not looking forward to Poetry and I was really looking forward to Literature. Unfortunately, I got to Literature at 10 and the teacher turned out to be really kind of strange in a meanish way. I don't think his intention is to be mean, but it comes out that way and he's so unpredictable we have no idea what to expect. I think he means to make us think, but all he's done so far is make me worried that his class is going to be awful. We'll see. Then I went to work at the Watershed which was fine and then went home. All of us sat around the table at dinner trying to help Paulina with her AP History homework for much of the evening and then I got a call for help and went to fold Laundry for four hours. It was long and mind numbing, but eventually I was so slap happy that it turned out to be fun (I was working with Ani K. so that helped). However, when I got home around midnight, the doors were all locked and I didn't have a key. So I tried to get into the van to open the garage and ended up setting off the car alarm and waking everyone up. I felt pretty darn guilty. Thursday was pretty normal except that after my bug class I went out to Beaners with Dan which was nice. Then I helped move furniture at Ani and Jeff's and went to bed. Friday I don't have class, so I went bug collecting at Barton Park and did various homework things. Barton Park is a great place by the way and I got tons of cool bugs. Then that night I went to a UCO party and saw some people I'd met last year and met some more cool people. Then I stayed up and watched a movie with Paulina. Saturday I ended up going with Mr. S. to take Buster to the animal hospital because he'd been coughing up mucous on Friday and that morning. It was an adventure, Buster wasn't very good. He whined constantly and basically made a fool of himself hiding behind our legs and crying. However, he got some medicine and is now doing much better, only coughing when he feels that no one is paying attention to him. Then I went home and did my chores and more homework until dinner when Natalia and Jeff came over and we did the Lord's Day in Spanish. It was pretty cool. Then we all watched "Karol Wojtyla: a man who became Pope" and it was really, really good. I highly recommend it to everyone. Sunday I went out and caught more bugs even though it was cold so it took longer to get a good selection. Then I went out to dinner with Dan and then to Mass. Yesterday was more poetry and literature and my discussion for A of E and M but I went out to lunch with Dan and Ani K. to Sabor Latino in between classes so it was fun and I finally found my movie I wanted at Borders. Yeah!! Then today my bug class didn't go out collecting 'cause it was so rainy, but stayed in and looked at bugs under a microscope and did more pinning. So that's that, now I have a headache and am going to stop and go to bed early. Bye.

Thank you Maryn for your eloquent post! Hmm...sounds like a lot of eating out/coffee stops/hanging out etc. ;) Actually, your life is MUCH more interesting than mine. If I were to post it would be "cleaned bathroom, cleaned bedrooms, cleaned Church, cleaned above bathroom again" ad nauseum. Is Gabe anyone I should know about? :)

I think i've probabaly told you about Gabe, he's a very funny character who grew up in the real boonies on a farm. He's pretty much hilarious.
