Mom

Here it is Mom, the promised post. I don't know why exactly, but my mom has been after me to write up a couple amusing stories about her. So here goes: I don't know if I told you, but the first Monday of break, Lauren, Mom and I ran a funeral luncheon from 8-4. We had dressed to work (jeans, T-shirt, tennis shoes etc.) but all of us also brought nicer clothes to change into when people actually started coming over after the funeral. So at about twelve we're all starting to go into "panic mode" and my Aunt comes over and tells us it's about time. So we all go change. Then Mom whips out her nice black shoes to replace her tennis shoes only to discover...she has two left feet (I'm talking about shoes here, she doesn't really have two left feet in terms of what you walk on)! True story. So if you know my mom, you can feel free to tease her about her "two left feet". Next story: We are driving along earlier that same day and someone does something stupid in their car (can't remember exactly what it was, but it was dumb). So we go on for a while about how dumb people with cars can be and my Mom finishes up the conversation by saying (in all seriousness) that, "It has ever been thus" with an appropriately resigned air. Lauren and I thought this was pretty funny and have been teasing her ever since. So there you have it. If you have a chance, go read my brother's story on his blog www.xanga.com/TheManiel

Great Mom stories! She told me about the shoes, heh heh. And that Mr. V had a "like it that way" moment.

"it has ever been thus" hmm? good line, I'll have to incoporate it into my vocab and mayhap integrate a little teasing of Mom into this weekend. See you friday! I'll email you soonly.
