Poetry is awesome.

Yep. Today in Poetry our teacher put this line on the board by Walt Whitman, "The blab of the pave". Isn't that awesome? Two verbs turned into nouns and no one objects, in fact, it's a really catchy pharse and of course everyone understands it...right? Yeah, so pretty much my teacher is hilarious. I think he's just as cool as my English teacher from last semester. However, I have all kinds of journal writing and stuff like that to do over the weekend. Sigh. No GVSU visit for poor Maryn...:( Sorry oh dear sisters and friends. It just isn't possible. I have a midterm next week for Archaeology of Egypt and Mesopotamia that involves memorizing the weird names of a bunch of dig sites, where they are on various maps, and what was important about each of them. Tons. Of. Sites. Really, way too many. Then I also have another literature paper, which I am trying not to think about but really should. I will probably actually start working on it tonight sometime. To give you an idea of why I don't want to think about it, I got a C+/B- on my first one. However, I did in fact deserve that grade and I knew it when I turned it in. But I wasn't planning on turning that in at all! You see, I wrote it the Thursday before the Rodeo weekend because I knew I wasn't going to have the time or interest to work on it. The professor had said it was due by Monday under his office door so I took that to mean I could turn it in at 11:59 Monday night and it would still be on time. I have a 3 1/2 hour break on Mondays after that class and I was planning on revising it during that break. Unfortunately, Literature class came Monday and the professor asked for the papers. So I asked him if I could turn mine in later and he asked if I had it done. I told him it was done, but it wasn't perfect and he said, is it good enough? I said, I don't know. He held out his hand for it and I gave it to him. Fortunately I had at least printed out a copy. Unfortunately, I hadn't even glanced at it since I wrote it. Turns out their was a HUGE mistake in regards to my thesis that came about because I decided to change my thesis a bit and neglected to change it in one small place in the intro paragraph. Sigh. So basically my professor thinks i'm an idiot, but it's all his fault, so there!! Then I also have all my Poetry work. Two poems to be annotated by Monday (assigned today) and 4 journal entries on it. Plus the reading. Geesh! And then there's the bugs...AHHH!!! Pretty much i'm gonna be spending lots of time in the Chem building staring at coxae under the microscope until I can tell Anaphagous from Polyphagous etc. Try staring at bug legs under a microscope for 3 + hours and then try telling me it doesn't give you a neck, back, head, eye and shoulder ache. Yep. So that's my life. Don't worry if you don't hear much from me in a while, I can probably be found crawling around in the woods or staring at a computer screen. P.S. Parents: i'm really not that overwhelmed, I have every confidence i'll be able to do all that by the appropriate date. So no need to be alarmed. Love, love, love.
