I'm on lunch break.
Hello all, I'm taking a little break between papers for lunch, music and blogging. I just finished paper number one for my Victorian novels class and now have one left. Hopefully the second one will flow out of my fingers much more easily than the last one. I really did spend much of yesterday working on it and only get 2.5 pages of less-than-perfect paper done. I must be more motivated today or something. Only took three hours to get the thing done and in relatively good shape. Anyways, I came here with a purpose. I want to share a Michael story before I forget all about it. Many thanks to Mom for reminding me by posting a similar story on her blog.
So last Saturday I went home home for Megan's debut Mary Kay party and afterwards I was playing with Michael. We were making dynamite sticks to blow up Nora's room since she was away for the weekend. So Michael and I are in the living room cutting up a piece of cardboard, coloring it red and taping fuses (also cardboard) to them. While busy with this, I notice that Michael has a piano book open to an easy little song. Michael just recently started piano lessons, you see. So I look at the song with the numbers on the keys that correspond to a little diagram that makes it very easy to figure out which notes to play. So naturally I try playing the song. I finish, and Michaels looks at me and says, "Oh Maryn, you have soooo much to learn!" The song consisted of three notes. There is no way I could have messed it up. Funny, funny kid.
By the way, the blowing up of Nora's room was a complete success...

man...blowing up nora's room...where do you plan on sleeping this summer? in the garage?
sounds like you and michael had fun!
See, Cecelia, the thing is that although we blew up Nora's room with some heavy duty explosives, the rest of the house was miraculously undamaged. So I still have options for sleeping this summer. Yep, Michael's a fun kid.
Michael-Man knows a thing or two about the Voyager show too. He catches us all up on where the plot stands in a particular episode, whether or not we want to know. "..and then the Borg assimilate Tuvok and the warp core gets ejected.."
ha that's a great story. how did Nora feel about the demolition of her room?
I feel your paper pain...working on 1 of 4 papers currently. It's a "personal manifesto" and it's just as much fun as it doesn't sound.
Wow. One can only hope that Nora doesn't escalate the conflict, perhaps even to the point of using non-cardboard dynamite :) Great story, Wheeze.
