Post #60: Birthdays and Other Happenings

Have you read them all? If not, be sure to catch the latest issue of...BLAH!!! Okay, enough of that. The weekend was good, my right thumb hurts from all the card shuffling I did. I taught Paulina how to play Canasta and she's been trying to beat me since then. We've played about 6 games in 4 days. Crazy. So far I've won all of them, however, I may be tumbling from my pedestal fairly soon. She came close tonight...too close. It's time Ursula took this into her own tentacles (did I get that right, Lindsey?). Friday was Senora's birthday and we had a small party for her. The usual people were there of course, so it was fun. Natalia and I went in and got her a cake from "Cake Nouveau" which is a new place in town which sells cakes (however did you guess?) and is owned and operated by a lady who was on the Food Network. She does pretty amazing cakes, go to the website and look at the pictures, they're pretty cool. The one we got her was considerably less complex, but tasted really good and was pretty darn awesome as well. See, that's it down there. Pretty cool, huh? So that was fun, then Saturday I went with Mom to catch Stoneflies for the HRWC (I work there, in case I haven't mentioned it before) winter event. It was kind of chilly, but it could have been much worse. Good mother-daughter-bug time :) It was fun, I always enjoy hopping into waders and tramping through the river with a net. Waders are so fashionable, I don't know why you never see people in them unless they have to be...weird. Oh, speaking of this song i'm listening to, check out the guitar-playing twosome "Rodrigo y Gabriella" they're pretty much awesome. If you can, watch the video of them playing, I wish I could do that kind of thing, but I don't even play the guitar, so not much chance of that...;) Maybe i'll try to figure it out on my harmonica, hah! So that's all for the latest edition of Blah, feel free to let me know you're out there especially if I don't even have any idea you read this. Have a lovely week!

Ah, good, so I don't have to feel too bad. I'm definitely coming the weekend after barring death, excess homework or lack of a car. Yes, the cake was yummy, there's even a little bit left...but not for long...heheh...I like elipses...see you in two weekends...

Wheeze, I for one am disappointed that you shan't make it out to visit this weekend, since I'm planning to be there. Also, I didn't really define the judging criteria for The Republic's contest, and they may OR may not include artistic ability. Come on, you know you want to own Canada someday.

I admit to wanting Canada, I love rocks. I am also disappointed that this weekend won't work for me to travel to GVSU :( I'm hoping to go the next weekend, but still, i'll miss you and Ani K. I'll just have to see you in the usual A2 area sometime.
