Francesillas etc.
Dinner has been rather awkward the past two nights. On Monday my Senora told me that some "Francesillas" would be coming that afternoon. This translates to "little french girls" and sure enough, when I got home later Monday evening, there they were just about to eat dinner. Two high school aged girls speaking French in whispers to each other. My Senora quickly set another place at the table for me and then commenced the awkwardness. They seem like very nice girls. However, there is definitely something of a language barrier since they speak French and a very little bit of spanish and an even littler bit of english. I speak no French. This means, apart from a few simple sentences in spanish, we were either awkwardly silent trying not to chew too loudly, or I was silent while the two of them whispered and giggled in French. The same thing was repeated yesterday. Today I'm hoping that by the time I get home they'll have already eaten and I can have dinner in peace with my Senora while watching our novela.
We also have another visitor staying with us which brings our numbers up to five! My Senora's sister-in-law is staying with us because her granddaughter is in the hospital. She's only 15 months old and they don't know what's wrong with her. Still doing tests. It's very sad, I feel bad for the grandma who is very sweet and very, very tired from being at the hospital all day.
Well, that's all for now I think.
